I am a Year 3-4 student in Team Awa at Ohaeawai School in Northland, New Zealand. My teachers are Mrs Gardiner and Mrs Clarke.

We enjoy practising our Basic Facts each day using Prototec. We also try and beat the clock on paper throughout the year. Here is my Term 4 results. I am proud of doing my best on Stage 5 in 3 minutes.
Last week we had Pet Day at school. As part of our reading and writing we got to get creative to show what we know about looking after animals. Here is the work I created. I worked with Bella Nikita and neail. I enjoyed making the move. I think what I created will be useful for people with animals because the move has some iformation .
We learned lots when we were on our camp and wanted to share these with Team Maunga before they go on their trip. For reading and writing we have been busy creating things to help Team Maunga. Here is my work on glow worms and caving.

A few weeks ago, instead of our camp to Coopers Beach, we went on a day trip to KawaKawa and had a sleepover at school. Our awesome parent helpers came along to supervise us. Here is a letter I wrote to say thank you.
For pet day 2021 we created Vaseline Saucers. We made a design and thought about symmetry and patterns. Then on Pet day we used our designs to help us with creating our work. Here is my DLO for my Vaseline Saucer.

Over lockdown one of our maths tasks each day was to practise prototec, just like we do every day at school.

In Team Awa we have been learning about the Olympic Games and using this in our maths. In class we had our own mini olympic games to help us explore measurement. Here is a recount I wrote about this.
I worked with Bella, Nakita and Nerali. For our Matariki T-Shaped Literacy we have been learning about Matariki and language features. We also got to retell a Matariki story. Here is my work.
It was easy to record because the iPad was on the stand.
It was hard to find different spots.

On outdoor classroom day we went out the back to make movies about hut making.
We learned about making huts and movies. I learned that making a movie is just like writing a story

I have been learning about taking photos on an iPad. We were learning about the rule of thirds. The rule of thirds is to put the subject on the side. It makes the photo look more interesting. We also got to look at different photos and see how different angles create different stories for the same subject (what we are taking a picture of).
I liked taking pictures of the slide and taking photos from different angles. The picture I liked best is the
wide shot because you can see the whole thing.
This term we have been learning some new techniques for creating digital art pieces. Here is my artwork from this term.
I like my pop art because they are all birds.
I like my kiwi texture because Now I know what texture is.
I learnt what texture is and how to use bight colours for pop art.
In Team Awa we had an outdoor learning day. We got to go outside and make huts around the back. We were learning about how movie making is like writing a story that we needed to tack different types of movie shots. Here's some examples of what I learned.
We have been learning about transformations. We learnt how to show reflection, rotation and translation.
This week our cyber challenge was to think about our digital footprint. Our digital footprint is about the trails of information we leave behind when we are online.
We found a leaf outside, we draw it and wrote juicy words to help us write a descriptive piece of writing.
This week we had Alice and Anika from The Blake Foundation come to teach us about healthy and unhealthy marine environments.

We have been learning to add hooks into our writing to make our stories interesting. We can use a hook to start our paragraphs which hooks in our reader.
We have been learning to different find ways to solve problems. This problem was tricky as we needed to work it out in two parts.
